Classic Rock Fans: 3 years, 1 month agocurrently listening to Valleys of Neptune (the song, not the album) by Jimi Hendrix. Can you imagine what he could have done to music if he hadn’t died when he did? I mean, Rock music really reached it’s peak in the 70s with COUNTLESS great bands, but Hendrix, he had a style all his own, and it would have been interesting to see where his psychedelic/acid/blues rock would have progressed to further in the 70s (where Pink Floyd kind of dominated psychedelia, which later transformed into progressive rock). The question is, would Hendrix have done the same, you know, going from the acid rock to progressive, or further enhanced what bands like Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, etc did with helping to create the heavy metal sub-genre?
