As the PS3 exclusive combat racer prepares to ship this month Eat Sleep Play co-founder David Jaffe revealed his plans to depart from the company.
Scott Campbell broke the news during an interview with The Salt Lake Tribune stating that Jaffe is leaving the company the two of them created to tackle the casual market. When the story made waves online, Jaffe took to Twitter to explain his reasons for leaving ESP, his plans to continue supporting Twisted Metal and what’s ahead.
In this first part of a series of videos, David Jaffe talks about the idea behind the series and the origins of some the characters and why they’re involved with the Twisted Metal tournament, focusing on Calypso, Dollface, Sweet Tooth, Mr. Grimm, and Preacher. Throughout, you can even catch a glimpse of some of the story scenes from the upcoming title. Personally, I am looking forward to this game (and the game nights we will almost definitely host). It releases next month on February 14th!

The fourth season of GT.TV kicked off last week with never-before-seen footage of Twisted Metal and an interview with creator David Jaffe. In this extended cut version of what aired on the TV show, Jaffe shares details about what fans can expect from the online multiplayer modes to the usual wacky gameplay that makes Twisted Metal…twisted.

Anyone else like this guy? I think he’s a straight shooter, he doesn’t come of as an arrogant arse to me. He goes out and just says what needs to be done or is going to be done in a straight forward way. Some people might hate it but I have to say that I appreciate it.
