Massive sale going on at Game Stop. They have buy 2 get 1 and buy 1 get 1; the list is huge. Most of the deals are in-store, but if you visit THIS PAGE, you can see there is just too many to list. Check after the jump for some shots of the ad.
There has to be a law against this. I went to visit my Gamestop today and picked up a new Demons Souls Greatest Hits. I wanted to bring home my game, open it and pop it in and enjoy some good old Soul farming. I asked the lady, repeatedly, if she had the game new and was told each time “yes”. She brought me an envelope and the open case right off the wall.
“So you’re going to sell me a used copy?” I said.
She replied, “we don’t have any used, this is our New copy.”
So to make a long story short this is what I got as a new video game:
I asked for a used price and was given none. Open box price? Doesn’t exist, apparently. The only reason I brought it home was to point this out to the community that this is not how a new game looks. This would make a real classy gift, don’t you think? I can picture it now, “You’re so cheap Dad, it’s used!” I will be writing a letter to Gamestop expressing my feelings. The above receipt has my rewards account erased via paint, for obvious reasons.
Gamestop has stepped on Sony’s toes with the latest attempt to make a profit. They have begun selling Modified consoles via their site and have changed the packaging and internals which is a big no in Sony’s eyes. Here is what were looking at:
I have run into this once or twice with Gamestop. You walk in, purchase a used game, get home and hop on the multilayer to realize you’ve been had. There is no code to get onto MP and there was no sticker to notify you that the title used a one time code. Better yet, you buy a new copy of Battlefield 2 and the game isn’t even wrapped. I have experienced all of these while shopping at Gamestop. Well apparently some people are fed up and are taking the retailer to the courts to duke it out.
