R&C: All 4 One Info and Terawatt Forest Gameplay

First of all, I gotta tell you, when this game was first announced, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a title worthy of a purchase. Luckily, the more I see of this game, the more my opinion of it has changed. For those who like co-op experiences, this one is looking very, very promising now.

This has been a very busy week for all of the exclusive games we’re getting, with developers posting more information on the titles (as promised on the Official Blog the other day). Today, we have information for both Resistance 3 and this title, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One. For starters, Insomniac Games did state that, although it’s a co-op experience, the more selfish players will get better rewards (such as weapons), thus putting the “I” in “team”, as they put it, but the main focus is still on cooperation.

Resistance 3 Multiplayer Footage

Those that haven’t seen any footage for Resistance 3 may want to check this out. This was footage taken from GDC 2011 in all of it’s multiplayer glory. From the looks of it the mutli looks pretty cool, and the graphics look really nice. This might be the game that actually gets me into the franchise.

GDC 2011: Resistance 3 Multiplayer Revealed, Beta Coming!

Today, Insomniac released some information about Resistance 3′s multiplayer. The game will feature only 16-player Human vs. Chimera deathmatch and objective-based modes set in locations across the globe. This is quite the change from Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 which had between 40 – 60 players running around blowing each others heads off. According to Insomniac, this decision was based on the amount of fun the developers and community had playing the game on several maps from R:FoM and R2.

Another feature that will be included in the game is a very deep and customizable progression system, which means:

  • Each player can choose and level different support abilities – such as a Bubble Shield, Ammo Beacon (give ammo to teammates) or Radar Beacon (enhance your team’s radar).
  • Each player can also choose tactical abilities that you can use against your enemies, such as the Doppelganger (projects an image of you nearby to distract enemies) or Dash (an explosive burst of speed to evade enemy attacks).
  • Each player can select and level a personal attribute and a combat attribute. These range from the ability to have leapers bust out from your corpse, to start with more weapons in your arsenal, to reloading or firing at a faster rate.
