Out On March 22 – Dragon Fantasy: The Black Tome of Ice

As we wait for the eventual announcement of Dragon Fantasy Book III (or whatever they end up calling the their entry in the Dragon Fantasy series), Muteki has announced the release of Dragon Fantasy: The Black Tome of Ice on March 22… which is next week! This is the definitive version of Dragon Fantasy Book II, a game that is currently available on PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. I reviewed Dragon Fantasy Book II and had a lot of fun with the game, so I’m definitely up for playing this updated and improved version!

[Review Revisited] RPGs: Dragon Fantasy Book I & II


As 8-bit and 16-bit retro-JRPGs, Dragon Fantasy Book I & II were very good games to play, reminiscent of the Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior series on both the NES and SNES.

Muteki’s status update on Dragon Fantasy Book III

Dragon Fantasy is a great RPG series from indie developer Muteki Corporation that has had two “episodes” released back in 2013 on Playstation platforms. The first one was a great game that took place in a Dragon Warrior-esque setting and the second one was a Final Fantasy IV/Chrono Trigger-style experience.

We had alot of fun reviewing both games here, and we’ve been waiting for a Book III announcement ever since, as the third chapter is sort of hinted near the end of Book II.

Last week, Muteki Corporation went and wrote a status update on their blog about the upcoming title, and the answer might be disappointing to a few of you guys. Here’s an excerpt of said blog post:
