Great news for long time AVP fans. A demo of the next generation of AVP carnage is coming. Hopefully the demo includes multiplayer, if not it would be cool if you could choose to play as the Predator, Alien or Marine. The game is out on February 16th, 2010. So the demo should be out in a few weeks max I’d imagine.
“There will be a demo…That’s all we can say,” said AvP lead designer Alex Moore in an interview with AvPGalaxy. As you might guess from the “that’s all we can say,” he didn’t mention the date or platforms.
Announced at CES, Nyko will be releasing a few accessories that will fit the Slim PS3, in which most are updated version of accessories used for the fatty. Up first, as pictured above, is the new and improved Media Hub, which doubles the USB ports, adds in an SD Card reader and, get this, a remote control you can use to navigate Blu-Rays and DVDs (you can’t power the system on with it, though).
What’s really cool, since it uses an RF output, you’re able to program many Universal Remotes to work with the device as well. To keep it in it’s place, it uses both of the USB ports on the front. It will be released this April for the price of $25, which is quite a deal considering the Blu-Ray Bluetooth remote itself is about $20!
Also to be released is an updated version of Nyko’s Intercooler system, which fits flush with the design of the system and also has the same finish for a sleeker, more form fitting design, and features 2 speeds for the cooling fans as well. This will be released in February for $20.
And finally, Nyko also unveiled it’s new vertical stand for the system, which increases its stability when you stand it up. It looks to have a glossy 3D checkerboard finish. The stand will be released in March for $15. One thing I’m not sure about, though, is does the vertical stand have provisions to allow for the Intercooler?
Sony officially announced last night that they will be expanding the PlayStation Network to other Sony devices, for example Bravia televisions and VAIO laptops. You can use the same PSN ID login and wallet as well. It’s officially called Sony Networking Entertainment Inc. I think this is a good move though. What do you think?
The bidding started at $2,000 but it’s already at $2,500 with 8 days to go. The monitor on this bad boy is a 17-inch Gateway 1775w LCD with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. There is even space inside the laptop to store the power cord while traveling. To bad the PS3 Slim can’t run Linux, would be cool to have that on the go as well.
Go to the 3 minute mark for the PS3 Slim Laptop.
It appears that several major retailers are having a hard time keeping PS3 SLIMs in stock. This should come as no surprise. Infact Sony’s Jack Tretton predicted shortages would arise after the much needed price cut and introduction of the PS3 SLIM.
Over at Gamestop the 120GB PS3 SLIM is currently listed as ‘Backordered’. At Walmart’s Online Store Infamous’ PS3 SLIM bundle is listed as Out of Stock . The 120 GB at Amazon is listed as temporarily out of stock while the 250 GB is still available. Best Buy is taking on-line orders but has no in-store pickup. FYI and Target are also sold out of the 120 GB SLIM according to their websites.
How’s the situation where you live?
