Another big standout this E3 is the next title by Quanitic Dream, famous for their last game, Heavy Rain (and looking even further back, Fahrenheit), comes their next title, Beyond: Two Souls. If you watch the premier trailer, shown after the jump, you can tell we’re in for another psychological thriller. Apparently, you will have much more control with your character this time around (including what looks like a lot more action), while also providing Move support at launch (while Heavy Rain got that support later in a patch).
According to Eurogamer, the game takes place over a 15 year span of the main character, Jodi Holmes (portrayed by Ellen Page), and her connection with the afterlife. If Heavy Rain is anything to go by, we’re in for a treat. Nothing like games that really make you think and build emotional connections with characters. Besides the trailer, we also have a collection of screenshots for your viewing pleasure as well. Enjoy!
We had the chance of watching a great video from Quantic Dream that showcases the new motion capture tech they have been working on ever since Heavy Rain was shipped. Now, we have access to a new video that spotlights the behind the scenes process for making the Kara Tech Demo:
Come November 8th, SCEA has confirmed the release of Heavy Rain: Director’s Cut edition. The new version will include the DLC Expansion, Heavy Rain Chronicles Episode 1: The Taxidermist, along with the game’s soundtrack, bonus making-of videos and much more. Here is the full list of content included:
Quantic Dream designer David Cage had already said that a Heavy Rain sequel would be unlikely:
“I’m not sure there will be a Heavy Rain 2. I’m not a guy who does sequels, because, when you work on a story, you have something to say. It’s a response to a moment of your life and what you want to express. There are so many great stories to tell. That’s why just doing sequels of sequels of sequels doesn’t make any sense.”
However, he never said anything about not doing another similarly styled game. Well, now, new information has been leaked that details some of the plot for the next title. Check after the jump for more details about the plot.
