[Review] Renegade Ops

Renegade Ops is a game that does not take itself seriously with it’s over the top voice acting and its cliché characters. You can tell it get its inspiration from 80′s action movies. We have the bad guy you love to hate, Inferno, who wants to blow the world up. Your typical “I am a big tough guy that takes no crap” General Bryant, who wants nothing more than to stop him. The UN are talking about negotiations with Inferno, which pisses Bryant off. He rips off his insignias, storms out, and swears to put a stop to Inferno. Now the fun begins. [Review] Yakuza 4

I have to admit I’m a Yakuza franchise virgin. Hang on, let me rephrase that – I was a Yakuza franchise virgin. I was aware of the Yakuza franchise, but I never really gave any thought to playing it. I was too involved with my FIFAs, GTAs, Battlefields, and highly overrated CoDs. However, I was presented with the opportunity to review the game and decided eh – why not.

I decided not to search up Yakuza 4 on the net, as I wanted my experience to be as original as it could be.

Yakuza 3 Review

If Yakuza 3 is a lesson in Japanese culture then what I have learnt about Japan is that everyone likes a fight, they love baseball, fighting is pretty popular, soba = buckwheat, no one will do what they’re told until you have defeated them… Oh and there’s a severe lack of hostesses. I kid, I kid I never really noticed their absence as I had never played any of the previous Yakuza titles. But everyone does love a good fight; seriously, you can’t do anything in this game without getting into a fight. You can’t go for a walk, you can’t ask your friend to look after your clan, and you can’t even cross the street in one instance without beating someone up first. It’s a good job that the brutal brawling system works well then and apart from the way the script contrives to include a fight at every possible moment the story does flow being deep and complicated with many characters involved.
