Official Review: Kung-Fu Live | Motion Gaming
Posted by T0SH in Featured, Kung-Fu Live, Media, PlayStation Eye, PS3 Reviews / Vita Reviews on January 5th, 2011
I’ve been anxiously awaiting for Kung-Fu Live to finally hit the PlayStation Store. After the hectic holidays and my PS3 issue .. I finally got my hands on this unique PlayStation Eye motion game.
The PlayStation Eye has been around since October 2007 and it took this long to come out with a killer PlayStation Eye motion game. It was worth the wait too!
It’s also a great workout believe it or not. I was sore for a couple days after. Sadly I didn’t gain any new Kung Fu powers that I could use in the real world …. yet. Mwhahahaha.
The guys over at Virtual Air Guitar Company use FreeMotion Technology to track your movements, remove the background and place you right inside the game. It’s quite an experience to see yourself moving inside of a game world. It’s fun to watch your friends and family try it for the first time. They all picked it up really quickly too.
Kung-Fu Live Available December 7th

Kung-Fu Live, a title a lot of us here have been looking forward to, will soon be available on the PSN. Come December 7th, the title will be available on the PlayStation Store for $14.99. With that said, the game, of course, needs the PlayStation Eye, but you will still need a DS3/Sixaxis to go through the menus (and 4 friends can control some of the “bad guys”, too, with the controllers).
Recommended play space is a 7′ x 9′ area (so yeah, you will definitely need a bit of workspace). As you can see from the trailer, the game allows you to star in comic book-style cutscenes as well. With that, you can also download screenshots of those onto the PS3 as well, to share with friends and family if you so choose.
New Kung-Fu Live Footage – Some Levels and Boss Battles

Here’s an interview discussing the game. They confirm that the price will be $14.99 in the video, as well as a possible release date between late October and November. This game keeps looking better and better. The boss battle they show at the end is actually very interesting. The one thing we haven’t really been able to see up to this point was more of the storyline, but I guess some things should be left a surprise
. Even though I’m a big guy, I think this game would be something I’d play often. Especially to embarrass myself in front of family and friends!
This is the type of game Sony should have been pushing on the Eye since it came out. Not a little card game. One thing I’m glad to see, though, is that they’re pushing their secondary accessories MUCH better than in the past.
Kung-Fu Live to be Just $15?
Posted by Jay in Kung-Fu Live, PlayStation Eye, QuickNews on August 18th, 2010
According to an article on IGN, the touted “Kinect Killer,” Kung-Fu Live, will be released in October, for no more than $15. Given how advanced its tracking is, and the fact that 4 other people can play as the ‘bad guys’, that is one heck of a deal and would surely compliment the purchase of the Move and anyone who has already gotten a PlayStation Eye.
