Xbox 360 Light Synth
The Xbox 360 will come with Jeff Minter’s light Synthesizer, Neon, built-in. You’re probably already familiar with the basics. Programs like WinAMP come with applications that display fancy graphics that bip to the bop. Neon is a little different, in that up to four players can pick up controllers and affect what they see. I don’t think it’s trying to do the same thing as Frequency, a great music game for the PS2 for up to four players. (Which got a sequel Amplitude. My friend Todd is considering buying a PS2 just to play these games.) This is more of a musical odyssey, where you get to affect the cool graphics you see by twiddling the controller.
But I like my music, and I hope that Todd will let me bring a disc or two over to his place once he gets his Xbox 360. I need to give this Neon thing a try.
