Ninja Gaiden Sigma Review Round Up
Both IGN and Gamespot have reviewed Ninja Gaiden Sigma and so far it’s good news for fans of the genre and people who haven’t played a Ninja Gaiden game before (me on both counts).
Gamespot gave it a 9 and this sums up what they think of it:
There’s simply a lot of game here, and the fact that this is a retooling of a three-year-old title for a new audience shouldn’t dissuade you from playing it. Whether you’re a series veteran or a newcomer, the in-your-face action of Ninja Gaiden Sigma is as exhilarating now as it ever was, and the new, slickly embedded content is surprisingly meaty. Play this game.
IGN gave it a 9.3 and here is their closing comment:
Though its core gameplay and content is more than three years old, Ninja Gaiden Sigma is just as fun as the original release. Many of the new content additions and tweaks have been added for the betterment of the experience, making this clearly the best of the bunch. The sections with Rachel are reasonable fun, though pale in comparison to what it’s like to take Ryu on a decapitation world tour. If you didn’t like the first two releases, there’s not anything here that’ll draw you in. But if you’re a big fan of the original, it’s worth your time and money to pick up Sigma as the game has never looked better or been so refined. And if you’ve never played Ninja Gaiden before, you should stand in line for this one.
Good stuff so far and it seems to be a great addition to the PS3. It’s released this Friday in the UK (possibly Thursday in NA?) so I’ll be getting this!
I’ll add more review scores when they become available.
