Anyone else having problems getting into an online game in CoD4?

I was so excited to bring this game home, and now it takes me forever to get into a game. “Trying to join potential matches.” it says. For a long time. I only got into one game so far, I hope this improves.

And does anyone know how to create a game that’s not private?
