Need for Speed SHIFT Tournament

We were recently informed of this ongoing contest to win some cool stuff. First off, this contest will be running from now to March 7th (it had actually started back in December). There are $40,000 in prizes to be won, and this event is aimed at the best drivers in the game.
If you’ve got what it takes, the 4 finalists will get an all-expenses-paid trip to Vancouver at EA’s Black Box studio to compete for the grand prize, which is $30,000 aimed toward a purchase on AutoTrader.com (I wonder if that means you can buy a bunch of inexpensive cars :P). Here are a few more details from a press release from December 4th:
Running from December 4th to March 7th, the tournament will challenge the world’s top racers to compete in the ultimate driving competition. Consisting of seven leaderboard qualifying periods, each round will see the fastest 16 drivers qualify for the playoffs. There is also a special wildcard qualification round in which 16 lucky entrants will automatically make the playoffs. The playoffs will pit the top 128 players in a single elimination bracket to determine the top four drivers. The top 4 will play in a live final at Black Box’s studio in Vancouver! For complete rules and regulations and to join the competition, visit www.needforspeedshift.ggl.com.
From the looks of it, this contest is open to both XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners, so if it interests you, here’s where you can sign up! For those of you who enter, good luck!
Also, just a little tidbit, be sure to read my review of the game, and if you already have it, be sure to download the free DLC that came out a few weeks ago which includes 5 new cars that are available for driving, as well as new team-based online gameplay additions! This was actually one of the better racers from 2009, in my opinion anyway.
This contest is made possible by EA Games, GGL, and AutoTrader :D.
