There’s a bit of controversy spreading around the internet regarding Square Enix. Recently SE showed off some screens of FFXIII that were supposedly from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.  Here’re a couple:

360 Version:

Besides the obvious “LB” and “L1” icons one would have a hard time telling these two images apart. That’s because both images are from the PS3 version of the game. Someone at SE came up with the bright idea to Photoshop the LB icon over the L1 icon for the 360 version.

When confronted with the story a PR rep from Square Enix had this to say via Twitter:

We are looking into how the FFXIII altered screens ended up in our presskit &will update asap. This was obviously not intentional. …Aside from easily being proven as altered, and this method not being one we use, we don’t feel there is a need to enhance the X360 FFXIII.

Are the differances between the two versions so noticable that SE felt the need to throw wool over our eyes?
