Battlefield 3 DLC Coming One Week Early For The PS3
According to Tommy Rydling from DICE on a post at the Official PS Blog all the first “full-blown” DLC packs for Battlefield 3 will come a week early for the Playstation 3.
The first DLC will be Back to Karkand:
four of the most loved maps from Battlefield 2, boldly reimagined in the Frostbite 2 engine. It also features new weapons and vehicles, unique in-game dog tags, new persistence, as well as new Trophies.
Everyone who pre-orders the Limited Edition (at no increased cost) gets this for free. It will be downloadable from PSN for $10 along with other retailer exclusive pre-order incentives. Personally I have pre-ordered BF3 for the DLC with no extra costs and obviously because the game looks incredible.
This is an interesting move, considering BF3 direct competitor Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has secured timed exclusivity for all DLC on XBox 360, furthermore increasing the competition between both games AND consoles. What do you guys think, is this a good thing or one week is not really relevant?
