San Diego Comic-Con 2012 Recap: Games, Movies, Comics; Nerds Unite!

Sony had a strong presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. So strong that they brought out heavy hitters such as Ellen Page during the Beyond: Two Souls panel and Ashley Johnson, W. Earl Brown, and Troy Baker for The Last of Us panel. Just in case you didn’t know, Comic-Con panels are simply a gathering of talent and producers with fans during the convention. An hour or so is given to the panelist to discuss the game, comic or movie. Sometimes they reveal new footage, and sometimes they also reveal a bunch of other new stuff to the public. Towards the end of each panel, fans are allowed to ask questions.

Omar Kendall, of Superbot Entertainment, revealed Jak and Cole as the latest addition to PlayStation All-Star Battle Royal, while Niel Druckmann, from Naughty Dog, showed us never before seen footage for The Last of Us.

Oly and myself were lucky enough to participate in the Iron Man 3 press conference. We were too “shy” to ask questions, however, it was an overall great experience. There was so much going on during the convention that we barely had time to do anything! This is my 8th year attending the con and Oly has been attending for 24 years! This is, however, the first time we actually got in as press. We had access to a lot of things regular badge holders did not. Oly managed to party it up with celebrities, While I took pictures in the press pit.

At 3 minutes and 6 seconds, Oly and I at the Iron Man 3 press briefing. Bottom right 🙂
