During my time at PAX PRIME a week ago. I managed to ask Omar Kendall, lead designer of Superbot Entertainment, a couple of questions regarding their upcoming game Sony Smash-Bro, whoops.. I meant PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royal. I was wandering around Sony’s booth and there he was, just standing next to the game stations.

PaulFierce: This is the first public showing of PS All-Stars besides the San Diego Comic-Con. How is the consumer reaction to the game?

Omar Kendall: The reaction is great. We want the players to first get a good grasp of the basic controls; from then on the game play becomes very rewarding. It may take some time to get used to the system. However, once you get the hang of it, you’ll notice a very polished game from the ground up that we’re proud to present.

PaulFierce: Do you have any plans for launch day? Will we see more of that live action commercial?

Omar Kendall: Yes we do. If you’re familiar with Capcom’s Fight Club events, we will be having our own. The location is still unannounced, and we may even have it nationwide. The commercial is something Sony cooked up. I have not seen it besides the footage that was attached to character intros at Comic-Con. But I would love to see something like that “Michael” commercial, but for All-Stars.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royal will be available for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on November 20, 2012.
