Sony and Insomniac announced Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus coming to PS3 this holiday.

We’re excited to announce that Ratchet and Clank are returning this year with an all new original single-player epilogue to the Future games. Under the creative direction of Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time creative director Brian Allgeier, Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is a story-driven platform adventure, with the humor and heart that make the franchise so beloved.

Sony posted an image on their Facebook and Twitter pages recently when a circular shape and the words “When Worlds Collide”, leaving us all to wonder what it was all about. Today Insomniac took ownership of the new title on Facebook and posted a newer image which is the one you see above.

Another image surfaced of someones friends list showing an Insomniac PSN handle playing Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus on the PS3 leaving most of us to believe that the new title will likely be cross generation PS3/PS4 and hopefully Vita as well.

There has also been some conjecture that this could be a Jak and Daxter crossover as well so its really anyone’s guess.
