Why I Believe Life is Strange Could Be My Favorite Episodic Game Of The Year!
Life is Strange is a great game release from Square Enix. I’ve been playing each of the games episodes for a while now and I’m to episode four already… and I have to say I’m loving the game! I’m a big fan of episodic releases, loving every game from Telltale Games, as was the case for their take on the Back to the Future franchise, and between currently playing Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands, I’ve been having a lot of fun with Life is Strange.
Why do I think this game has a shot at becoming my favorite episodic release for the year?
Characters that I care about
I definitely care about what is going on with Maxine. Maybe it is because she gets bullied in school, or because she’s so down-to-earth. I don’t really know , but I actually like her personality. Life is Strange also has a stellar voice acting cast which delivers an amazing amount of different dialogues based on your earlier actions!
Very interesting story/using time mechanics
I’m not going to spoil anything about the story here, so you will have to play the game yourselves to see how much good it gets as you progress through the episodes, but I’m sure you’re going to love how the time mechanic plays into the game’s awesome story!
Amazing graphical engine and soundtrack
I didn’t play every AAA game this year, but I’m amazed by how much care has been put into each location of this game. I reached Episode 4, and I’m still impressed by each new place I visit, and when the sun sets (check the image above and imagine this in real time), it’s just incredibly gorgeous. The Unreal Engine 4 is a beast, and it shows in this game. The soundtrack is also very good and it is the perfect companion as it enhances each of the game’s settings, changing as the mood for the scene swings to a different direction.
