[PS3 Review] Minecraft: Story Mode - Episode 4: A Block and a Hard Place
A Block and a Hard Place is the fourth episode in Minecraft: Story Mode, an interactive story set in the Minecraft universe created by Telltale Games and Mojang. This episode continues the adventures of Jesse and his/her friends on their way to save the world from chaos.
Telltale Games is quick to release new episodes for this game, but since it released somewhere in the Christmas Holiday, I completely missed it, so this is why this review is a little late.
As has been the case with other reviews for releases from Telltale Games this contains some spoilers about the story. Are you ready?
Episode four of a five-part episodic game series set in the world of Minecraft.
Minecraft: Story Mode is like a playable television show based on your favorite game, where YOU are the star, and your choices and actions decide how the story is told.
You are Jesse, and you and your friends are thrown into an awe-inspiring adventure to save the world. While visiting EnderCon, your gang stumbles on something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and your only hope is to track down the “Order of the Stone”, a fabled group of adventurers who slew the legendary Ender Dragon. But where are they? In a race against time, you will travel across the overworld, through the Nether, to The End, and beyond.
Minecraft: Story Mode – Episode 4 Trailer
A Block and a Hard Place starts right where the previous episode ended, with the failed attempt to destroy the Wither Storm. Of course, everyone is in panic mode and is running for their lives. Once they get to safety, they begin to talk to someone who they thought was gone but is very much alive and well… but with amnesia.
That’s when the team devises a new promising idea to destroy their enemy. This idea will take the team to the very corner (not to be confused with the edge!) of the world. The adventures waiting there will be challenging for our heroes, and will test player’s skills.
I noticed that this episode featured more puzzles than previous ones, and while I thought that one of them was particularly challenging, I liked them pretty much! Also, a segment near the end was particularly action packed and very fun to play!
With the way this episode ends, I’m pretty curious as to how the last episode will be shaped. I guess this will be a great surprise to see in action! I still highly recommend this game to every Minecraft fan out there!
