Song of the Deep Out On PlayStation 4

 Song of the Deep

Song of the Deep from Insomniac Games is a very interesting release considering it’s a “smaller” type of game when compared to the massive projects they’ve worked on. It’s also a Metroidvania, a genre that we really like here at PS3blog.net. On top of that, the game is published by GameStop. Yes, that GameStop.

And this is the first game that the retail giant is directly involved on for on PlayStation 4, which will surely open the door for them giving this treatment to other games very soon. Who doesn’t like an option for a physical edition of a game that otherwise might not have ever made it to retail?

Song of the Deep is available right now either as a digital release on PSN, as a physical edition (yes, with a case and everything… including the game printed to disc!) exclusively for sale at GameStop (well, duh!) for $14.99, or as a Collector’s Edition for $29.99, again, exclusively available at GameStop (ditto).

The Collector’s Edition for this game includes a steel case, a book and some stickers, which is good enough for the extra $15. Check out the game’s trailer below and let us know what you think about this Metroidvania!
