[JRPG Review Revisited] Star Ocean: The Last Hope International
Star Ocean: The Last Hope is a very good RPG in the Star Ocean franchise, a sci-fi series that is set in the far future. In this game, which is, in fact, a prequel to the other Star Ocean games. Your quest will be to find a new home for the residents of Earth in the aftermath of WWIII which left our planet as a hostile environment.
I’m revisiting this review today because I think this is my favorite RPG in the PS3 library – yes, even slightly better than Ni no Kuni! I purchased it as soon as it was released and played through it twice… and I would definitely replay this RPG gem. It’s way better than Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness (which I completely in a “short” 22 hours).

Star Ocean: The Last Hope’s campaign spans over 40 hours of gameplay, and you’ll visit a lot of completely different environment as your crew searches for a new planet to call home. I loved the soundtrack, the battle system, and the environments! The only issue I had with this game was how the Save Points were waaaaay far apart. All in all, you really should give this game a try if you’re into space exploration and JRPG!
