[Review Revisited] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

[Review Revisited] Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

It’s time to talk about one of the biggest selling games ever and one of the biggest multiplayer games I ever played – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2!

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Launch Trailer (Official HD)

I owned a PS3 for quite a while, but I didn’t pick up any shooters for it early on. I remember some of the fuss when the original Modern Warfare launched, but never jumped on board. After seeing the initial reviews and hype for Modern Warfare 2, I decided it was time for me to jump in. I loved the single-player campaign for the game, as it felt like a Micheal Bay action movie. Really good. However, the heart of the game, and what made it such a success, is its multiplayer. I never had that one more match feeling before when playing multiplayer games and even though I picked up a few more Call of Duty’s afterwords, I never quite got that same feeling for a long time.( Until I picked up Overwatch a few months ago).

Here were some of my thoughts from back when we reviewed the game:

Modern Warfare 2 more than justifies the hype, ridiculous sales figures and is without doubt worth all the accolades. Whilst the single player is shallow and short, its fun and the multiplayer will keep you playing for weeks. If you want a FPS then there is no need to look anywhere else but then all over major FPS games have all shifted their release date to early 2010 so you can’t. If you still haven’t made up your mind, one quick look at your friends list will show you everyone else is playing this and you should too.
