[Review Revisited] Super Mario Odyessy
Mario jumps back into the limelight with Super Mario Odyssey, a game I was very much looking forward to playing with my brand new Nintendo Switch console. Check out our Super Mario Odyssey review!
Super Mario Odyssey – Game Trailer – Nintendo E3 2017
As I’ve just mentioned, I am a new Nintendo Switch owner, and so far I’m loving it! I have been catching up with the essential games that I have missed out on, and this included GOTY Super Mario Odyssey. I loved the fun of the classic Super Mario 64, and have have been waiting for it to get a true sequel. For me, Super Mario Odyssey is that game. I picked it up immediately along with my new Nintendo Switch and got to play the game from start to finish, getting all 999 moons up for grabs on all stages.
There was so much joy in every single stage thanks to some really varied level design, with secrets practically hiding around every corner. I would thoroughly wander through every level exposing secrets, finding extra moons and hidden coins, playing non-stop for hours at a time. All of the worlds were great each, with specific themes for each one, from the Hat Kingdom to the Metro Kingdom, to even Bowser’s Kingdom – my favorite one out of the bunch.
Even the brutally hard platforming sections had some fun to them even, though I did die a ton of times trying to complete them. There are turtle races in the game where you have to beat a bunch of turtles to a goal, which at first I hated, but as they forced me to learn how to do extra long jumps using the hat and using some really unique moves to make it to the finish line, I managed to learn to spot new shortcuts I could use to my advantage. This one is pretty much a perfect game, and if I had to complain about something, it would be about the two moons jumping rope and playing volleyball.
Super Mario Odyssey is THE best game on Nintendo Switch, with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild a very close second, so be sure to go out and get a Nintendo Switch if you don’t have one already so that you can experience this gem!
