Under Leaves Review - 1

There are 29 animals to discover in this hidden objects game as you search for the objects that you are asked to located in each colorful and charming location. For example, the first animal you will interact with will be a polar bear. He’s hungry, so he asks that you please find eight fish for him to eat. Since you’re in a very cold and icy location, and because the fish are blue, you’ll have to slowly canvas each screen so that you can grab all of the fish.

The controls are very easy-to-understand. You’ll move a cursor on the screen with the left analog stick, moving between screens by pressing left, right, up, or down on the D-Pad on the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con as needed. You can zoom in and out with the X button as needed. Once you find one of the objects you’re looking for, you can press the A button to collect it with the cursor. You can also take screenshots with the corresponding Screenshot button to save the images to your album.

If you’re ever having trouble finding one of the hidden objects, you can press the hint button on the right side of the screen. This will take you to a small sliding puzzle where you’ll need to put the Under Leaves logo in order. Once you do this, a large white circle will show up on the screen, to then move towards one of the objects you’re missing. Since you have to complete the sliding puzzle every time you want to get a new hint, this will make it possible to progress in the game without abusing the hints system.
