[PS4] Farm For Your Life Review
Farm For Your Life from Secret Item Games is a new colorful and relaxing farming sim on PS4… with zombies! Learn more about it in our Farm For Your Life review!
In Farm For Your Life from Secret Item Games, you’ll be taking on a colorful and relaxing farming sim on PlayStation 4 in which you’ll have to take care of growing enough resources to feed your customers while also keeping an eye on the zombies who are out to eat your produce. This makes them sound like vegetarian zombies since they don’t want brains! It’s a resource management sim in which you’ll have to collaborate with other survivors to make it through this new post-apocalyptic world.
Everything was just fine in your community until one day, a heavy storm hits, destroying everything on its path. To make things worse, this particular storm was so bad that it also unleashed the might of the undead! You’ll have to take care of your farm and manage your restaurant so that you can provide food to those that visit your establishment, all while taking care of the zombie invasion. Once you’ve taken care of customizing your avatar by selecting between a male or female character, and picking out its hair, facial hair, eyebrows, nose, jacket, pants, hat, glasses, neck, skin color, hair color, facial hair color, eyes, mouth, shirt, and shoes, you’ll be ready to go.
You can play Farm For Your Life in Story Mode or in Endless Mode. As each name suggests, Story Mode will be where you get to learn more about the life – and undead – of this particular community, while for Endless Mode, you can keep playing for as long as you please. If managing the farm, the restaurant, and dealing with zombies sounds like you’ll be juggling too many things, you can turn on Peaceful Mode so that you don’t have to worry about the zombies.
You’ll be helped along the way by a series of workers that will join your cause, as long as you take care of them and feed them. You can set them to either help you at the farm or at the restaurant, depending on what you need. You’ll only have the one worker at first, but more will join your cause as you progress through either one of the game’s modes. Setting up defenses, personally going up against the zombies, keeping your farm going strong, serving your customers by trading your meals for the items they offer all make for an addictive gameplay loop. The cooking even pays homage to Fruit Ninja for some casual gaming fun.
Farm For Your Life includes a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. The good news is that all of the trophies will unlock as you progress through the game, use your tools and upgrade them, serve your customers, and handle the zombies. There’s only one missable trophy, and the good news is that it’s part of the tutorial segment, so even if you end up not getting it the first time around, it shouldn’t take you long to back and do some cleanup after you’ve completed the main story.
If you’re looking for a fun farming/restaurant management sim with a zombie twist, then Farm For Your Life is going to tick all of those boxes. The game is an entertaining and very chill experience that will keep you busy for 10+ hours as you aim to unlock one more Platinum for the virtual trophy cabinet. I do have to mention that the game has some very tiny text that will make it hard to read anything if you’re, say, playing from the comfort of your bed. Farm For Your Life is out now on PlayStation 4 with a $19.99 asking price.
