Highschool Romance from Gamuzumi and Dharker Studio is a visual novel in which you play as a boy who by mistake ends up in an all-girls school. It seems his parents were not paying attention when filling up all of the paperwork, so he’s now stuck at this school where Lea, the principal, suggests something crazy: why doesn’t Shoji dress up as a girl so that he can go to school and finish his classes so that he can then go on to college? As expected, this leads to some very unusual situations in a Rated T for Teen visual novel with a side of fan service.
There are 18 CGs to unlock as you progress through Highschool Romance, as well as three different endings to unlock, which means that you’re going to have to play this one at least three times from start to finish if you want to get each of the three endings and add a new Platinum trophy to your collection. The three romantic options are Principal Lea, Selina, and Hoshi, so as long as you pay attention to the choices you make along the way and spend more time with each of the three characters during each run, you’ll be set.
Highschool Romance is a visual novel with a goofier setup than usual, asking players to just go “whatever” when Shoji ends up at an all-girls school, and the principal just casually suggests he cross-dress to blend in and finish the school year so that he can graduate. With only three more characters in the game, there’s not a lot of content for this one, and subsequent runs are there with only some small variations to the overall story. You do get a Platinum trophy for this one, and since it’s a cross-buy release, you get two separate trophy lists for the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions of the game. Highschool Romance is out on PlayStation with a $12.99 price.
