How Buddy’s Parents Met from Mens Sana Interactive and QUByte Interactive is a budget minimalist jigsaw puzzle game. The titular Buddy is a cat, and as we all know, cats are always at the right place at the right time, witnessing all types of situations. For this game, you’ll be completing six jigsaw puzzles that will show you different scenes that give you a glimpse into how two people got to meet and how their relationship blossomed into love.
You can control this one either by using the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con or the console’s touchscreen when playing in Portable or Tabletop Mode. When using the touchscreen, you only need to tap on a puzzle piece and slide it into position as you try to complete the image. If using the Joy-Con, the left analog stick will move a cursor around the screen as you press the A button to select a piece and then move it into position. You can zoom in and out with the L and R buttons and can select to highlight puzzle pieces in groups, say, the ones that are part of the image’s border or the ones that are part of one of the four corners of the image.
You can press the B button to see the preview image that you’re trying to complete, use the Y button to change the contrast, press the X button to highlight border pieces, or use the D-Pad to, as mentioned before, highlight the pieces from each quadrant of the puzzle. You can also drag the game board around with the right analog stick, and if you want to shuffle the remaining puzzle pieces by pressing the – button.
How Buddy’s Parents Met is a fun minimalist puzzle game that will tell a short story thanks to the six puzzles that you can complete. There’s some replay value for this one since you can select to complete puzzles with 135, 240, 375, 540, and 735 puzzle pieces, depending on the challenge you want to take on. How Buddy’s Parents Met is out on Nintendo Switch with a budget price of only $3.99, and it’s a very chill and colorful experience on Nintendo’s console.
