Memories of East Coast from eastasiasoft and Roomah Gaming is a visual novel in which you’ll join Sam on an emotional journey. You’ll experience Sam’s journey as the travels back to a place he hasn’t visited in 15 years, in a hand-drawn visual novel with a lo-fi soundtrack to match the overall mood. There are different perspectives to take on loss, grief, and love, all through a sense of nostalgia.

Before you begin playing Memories of East Coast, the game will ask you if you’re familiar with visual novels or not. If you’re new to the genre, you can get a crash course to learn all of the basics. As the name for the genre suggests, Memories of East is a game that feels like a novel, but with graphics and sound, while the player interacts with the story. You’ll have choices to make along the way, which will take you down different story paths

Memories of East has a full trophy list for you to work on, which is split into 9 Bronze trophies, 9 Silver trophies, and 9 Gold trophies. Since the game requires that you take all available story branches to be able to get the Platinum, you’re going to need to replay the game several times if going in blind. If you’re a trophy hunter, you’ll probably will be using a guide, which will allow you to lower how many times you need to play the game, as long as you make good use of the save system.

Memories of East Coast is a short visual novel with a hand-drawn art style, and a chill soundtrack. Talking about the game’s story would spoil your time with the game, since it’s a crucial part of the experience. Other than some grammar and spelling mistakes, there’s not much to complain about the game. Memories of East Coast is out as a cross-buy title, which means that with your purchase of this budget $4.99 release, you can get both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions of the game, each one with its own trophy list. Thanks to this, trophy hunters can get two Platinum trophies for one low price.
