Rage Among the Stars from eastasiasoft and Kata Games is a 2D platformer that pays homage to old-school platforms. It features 40 levels that will test your skills at all times… just be careful and don’t throw your controller! You’re going to die a lot as you use the always reliable trial and error method to learn the layout of a level, where the hazards are, as well as the movement and attack patterns of enemies, as you just try to get from point A to point B in one piece.
You’ll control your character with the left analog stick or the D-Pad as you jump, double jump, and wall jump with the X button. These are the skills you’ll be able to use as you take on the 40 stages in the game, as you try to avoid the always deadly sharp spikes that are all over the place. For each level, you’ll also be racing against the clock as you try to reach the exit as fast as possible. If you’re good enough, you’ll get a gold medal for that stage for your efforts.
The game includes a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy, a list that is split into 2 Silver trophies and 11 Gold trophies. The objectives to complete for that Platinum trophy include completing the tutorial and beating stages 3, 6, and 12, performing 100 double jumps, performing 100 wall jumps, dying 50 times on the same level, dying 30, 60, and 120 times in total, and obtaining 2, 4 and 8 gold medals.
Rage Among the Stars is a challenging 2D platformer in which death lurks around every corner. You’re going to die in this one – a lot – as you find the right timing for making some of the trickier jumps that will bring you closer to a level’s exit. The game is a Cross-Buy title on PlayStation for only $4.99, so your purchase will grant you access to the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions, with each one featuring its own trophy list.
