You play as the titular Detective Di Renijije, a young but very talented individual who is tasked with discovering the identity of the murderer.

Detective Di: The Silk Rose Murders Review - 1

Since this is a point and click adventure game on Nintendo Switch, you can play either with the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, or by using the touchscreen on the console when playing in Portable or Tabletop Mode, or if playing the game on a Nintendo Switch Lite. You’ll be controlling a cursor over the screen with the left analog stick as you press the A button to interact with items and characters. When you tap on a character or object, you’ll then get to select the action to perform. If you double-tap somewhere, your character will walk there at a faster pace. If you tap on the Detective Vision icon in the inventory, you’ll be able to reveal all objects and characters in the scene so that you can know what and who you can interact with. You can also do this by pressing the X button.

Tap the sack icon to open up your inventory, where all the items you collect will be deposited. Tap on an object in your inventory to examine it. Objects can also be dragged and dropped onto another object to use or combine them as needed. As expected, there will be times when one particular item is required to be able to progress in the game. At other times, combining the right items will reward you with a new item that can be used to solve a puzzle. You also have a Deduction Board for each case, which you can access by tapping the red seal.
