The Psychoduck from Ratalaika Games and Nibb Games is a stealth game about a psychotic duck who needs to get rid of all herons to collect many crowns. The duck never seems to have enough crowns since he wants to see his shelves packed with more and more crowns. The controls are simple and to the point. You’ll move your duck around with the left analog or the D-Pad. Press the Square button, and the duck will go into stealth mode, walking at a slow pace to try and keep the heron from spotting him. Once you’re close enough – and as long as you haven’t been spotted – press the X button to attack the heron and collect the crown! Later on, you’ll gain access to a long-range weapon that will change how you approach subsequent levels.

The Psychoduck Review - 1

Things start off easy enough since, for the first level, you’ll only need to walk up slowly towards the heron, but from the second level and on, you’ll have to deal with a frog bodyguard that will be pacing around patrolling the area. You’ll then have to push around blocks by pressing and holding down the X button. And then there will be two bodyguards to worry about! On top of getting to the end of the level in a stealthy way, you can also focus on collecting the special snail you can find along the way so that you can 100% the game.

The Psychoduck Review - 2

Yes, the snails are needed for getting the Platinum trophy that The Psychoduck has to offer. The trophy list includes 11 Gold trophies and requires that you collect at least one snail, as well as complete the first 14 stages that the game has to offer. Since this one is a Cross-Buy release, if you have a PlayStation 5 console, you’ll be able to get two new Platinum trophies for your collection since each version has a separate trophy list.

The Psychoduck Review - 3

The Psychoduck is a simple stealth game about a psychotic duck who will stop at nothing to get all of the crowns currently resting on the heads of the heron on its path. The Psychoduck is available as a Cross-Buy title, so your $4.99 purchase will give you access to the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions.
