Cubic Figures from DillyFrame Games is a neon-infused puzzle game in which you must fit different pieces into specific shapes to clear each stage. It’s a minimalist experience in which you’ll grab a block by moving between the available options with the left analog stick or the D-Pad. After that, press X to grab it, and then use the L1 and R1 buttons to rotate each one as needed. Once all pieces have been placed correctly inside of the outline of the shape at the center of the screen, you’ll be transported to the next one.
The game features 150 levels, split into three difficulty settings: Easy, Medium, and Hard. As expected, the higher the difficulty you select, the bigger the challenge you’ll be taking on. Since not all puzzle pieces are visible at the start of a puzzle, you’ll need to employ the always helpful trial and error strategy to start to build the final shape needed to solve the puzzle. You might think you have the solution, but then a puzzle piece with a weird shape might be revealed, forcing you to reevaluate your strategy.
Trophy-wise, this one has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to aim for. The list includes 2 Bronze trophies, 3 Silver trophies, and 10 Gold trophies. While this one has 150 levels to play, the requirements for the Platinum are very simple since you’ll only need to complete five levels from the Easy batch, five levels from the Medium batch, and five levels from the Hard Batch. On that note, if you want to speed things up, you can check out this Cubic Figures Trophy Guide.
If you’re a fan of puzzle games in which you need to complete figures by using pieces of a variety of shapes, from single blocks to what seem to be pixel stairs…. or something, then Cubic Figures is a good option on PS4. There are 150 levels to solve, so there’s certainly plenty of content for this budget release. Cubic Figures is out on PlayStation 4 with a price of only $3.99.
