Kayko & Kokosh Coloring Book from RedDeerGames takes you on a journey through the Slavic fantasy world based on the works of Polish artist Janusz Christ. Check our Kayko & Kokosh Coloring Book review!

Kayko & Kokosh Coloring Book from RedDeerGames takes you on a journey through the Slavic fantasy world based on the works of Polish artist Janusz Christ. The pair are sorta known as the Slavic Asterix and Obelix, which I can sorta see after doing a dive into the pair’s stories and history. The strips follow the two warriors as they do whatever it takes to defend their beloved castle of Mirmilovo from attacks by the evil order of Knaveknights.

Kayko & Kokosh Coloring Book Review - 1

Kayko is the smaller of the two, a clever, resourceful, and lovable kind of hero who is ready to give it his all to save those around him. Meanwhile, Kokosh is stronger and more confident, but he’s always hungry, so food is most certainly is always in his mind as he battles against the Knaveknights. See? Slavic Asterix and Obelix! Along with their many stories in print, the pair has an animated series on Netflix with two seasons – for a total of 14 episodes of roughly 15 minutes each.

Kayko & Kokosh Coloring Book Review - 2

The main story, Kayko and Kokosh Vs. Knaveknights, has 41 pages for you to read through. To follow along with the story, just press the Y button as you check each page to make any dialogue pop up, including the one for the narrator. How do you play the game? Along with having touchscreen support for when you play the game in Portable or Tabletop Mode or when playing on a Nintendo Switch Lite, you can also use the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con. You’ll move a brush around the screen with the left or right analog sticks, changing the size of the brush’s painting surface by using the R button and paint by pressing the ZR button.

You can then access your tools and change between them with the Y and X buttons so that you can select between drawing with a pencil, a brush, a crayon, a spray can, a marker, or a paint can that will allow you to paint an entire segment with a single color. You can also use an eraser to fix any mistakes you’ve made along the way or select the trash can to remove all of the colors on the screen so that you can give it another go and start from scratch.
