Fantasy-themed visual novel Sakura MMO 3 from Gamuzumi and Winged Cloud is ready for you on PlayStation. If you’re new to the series, it’s a Rated M for Mature experience with a dash of fan service in which you’ll follow a girl named Viola, who one day finds herself trapped inside the world of Asaph Online… her favorite video game! It’s a visual novel of the Yuri variety, and that means it’s a visual novel in which you can romance one of the characters you’ll interact with during your journey.

Sakura MMO 3 Review - 1

Viola goes by Kotone in the world of Asaph Online, and while there, she goes on adventure after adventure, all while thinking about a way to return to Japan. For this particular adventure, Kotone and the group of girls that join her in battle must put a stop to the fallen Goddess Iona, who is plotting to bring an end to Asaph. Can Kotone and the gang put a stop to her evil plans before it’s too late?

And since it’s a visual novel, that means there’s a lot of text to read as you progress through the different story routes that Sakura MMO 3 has to offer. If you’re new to visual novels, they’re games that do the genre’s name justice since they bring to life a story by way of colorful visuals, a lot of text, and sometimes offer voice acting for its characters – something that is expensive to implement when using a cast that knows what it’s doing in the recording booth.

Sakura MMO 3 Review - 2

This game is a Cross-Buy title, so you will gain access to both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions of the game, and since each one has its own trophy list, if you own a PS5 console, you can add two Platinum trophies to your collection! The list includes 16 Bronze trophies and 9 Gold ones, and they will pop as you complete each of the story routes on offer, as well as play the extra story segment from the main menu. If you want to speed things up, you can check out this Sakura MMO 3 Trophy Guide.

Sakura MMO 3 Review - 3

If you’ve enjoyed the two previous games in the Sakura MMO series, then you’re going to enjoy Sakura MMO 3 and its Rated M for Mature story and fan service. And once you’ve completed all story routes and gotten your new Platinum trophy – or two! – you can visit the Gallery section to check the different special CG images that will be shown at special intervals of the game’s story. Sakura MMO 3 is available at a price of $7.99, and since it’s a Cross-Buy title, your purchase will give you access to both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 versions at no extra cost.
