RunBean Galactic from eastasiasoft and Khudu is a minimalist circular endless autorunner on PlayStation. Learn more in our RunBean Galactic review!

RunBean Galactic from eastasiasoft and Khudu is a minimalist circular endless autorunner on PlayStation. What this means is that you’ll have a character running around a planet as you help it avoid the different hazards on its path. That means you’ll have to jump and roll as needed to avoid all of the things that can kill your character in a single hit. You’ll take on the role of the titular astronaut who lands on a planet that has one goal and one goal only: to destroy you as soon as possible.

RunBean Galactic Review - 1

Given the game’s minimalist look, it’s only fitting that the controls for this one are simple and to the point. All you need to do is jump to avoid obstacles on the ground or roll to avoid obstacles floating up in the air. You can jump by pressing the X button and can roll by pressing the Square button… and that’s about it! You can also press up on the D-Pad to jump. You’ll sometimes hit a sign that will send you running back in the opposite direction, and you can also collect stars to boost your score. You will also need to grab a key to open up a locked door on your path.

RunBean Galactic Review - 2

RunBean Galatic has a full trophy list with a Platinum for you to work on. As expected, it’s a list that will require you to get good at the game since you’ll have to survive a full day that takes you from day to night and back to the day, unlock all extra astronauts, accumulate 500 and 1,000 points over your total runs, as well as die… a lot. As long as you die 25 times in total – which doesn’t take that long – you’ll be close to getting a new Platinum for your collection. And since this is a Cross-Buy title, if you have a PlayStation 5, you can download both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game and work on the separate trophy lists. If you need some help, you can check this RunBean Galactic Trophy Guide.

RunBean Galactic Review - 3

RunBean Galactic is a minimalist circular endless autorunner that is simple and to the point. You’re going to either love it or hate it, depending on how you feel about games of this variety. Unfortunately, the controls feel a bit off for a game that requires such precision. Press a button and there’s a small delay. Going from a roll to a jump takes a bit longer than expected, which can end one too many runs. There’s an online leaderboard where you can compete to try and get the best score possible to climb higher and higher on the charts. You can also work on unlocking the additional four astronauts you can play as – RunBeauty, RunBeak, RunBerry, and RunBear. RunBean Galactic is available as a Cross-Buy title, so your $4.99 purchase will allow you to download both the PS4 and PS5 versions of the game.
