Repit from 17Studio is a minimalist 2D platformer in which you must persevere as you learn from your mistakes and try to overcome the many hazards on your path. You’ll be taking on the role of Bob. Bob is an ordinary person living an ordinary life until one day when an accident leads to his misfortune. His cart full of groceries hits an elderly, well-dressed stately-looking man, knocking him to the ground. In retaliation, he curses Bob, removing his human appearance and sending him into a loop of deadly rooms packed with traps.

Repit Review - 1

You’ll control your character with the left analog stick or the D-Pad as it jumps with the X button and crouches with the Y button. These are two key abilities that are a must if you want to survive. As you’ll soon learn, there are plenty of hazards and pits in your future. This is why you’ll have to use the right analog stick and the L button to make notes about them on the screen so that you can avoid them during subsequent tries. You can also make good use of the console’s touchscreen when playing in Portable or Tabletop Mode – or if playing on a Nintendo Switch Lite – to quickly mark these issues as needed.

Repit Review - 2

That’s it for Repit. It’s a minimalist 2D platformer where you’ll have to learn from your mistakes as you mark them on each screen with the right analog stick and the R button or by using the console’s touchscreen. And learn from my mistakes I did. After 367 deaths and a close-to-the-end maze that then made me play previous levels upsidedown every time I took the wrong exit, I managed to reach the final stage, one step away from clearing the whole thing. How will you fare? Repit is out on Nintendo Switch at a low price of only $2.99, making it an easy one to recommend on Nintendo’s console.
