MetaDude is the latest interactive graphic novel experience from DillyFrame Games to land on PlayStation 5. After giving us the colorful but dark I’ll Kill Her, as well as black and white tale A Matter of Principle, it’s now time to dive into MetaDude. For this journey, you’ll be taking on a tale about a potential future in which the lines between the virtual world and the real world are becoming more and more blurred.

 

Because of the game’s nature, the controls are simple and to the point. Before you start each story chapter, you’ll have to move a cursor around the screen to select the different pieces of a comic book cover so that you can then press the X button to rotate them. Once all pieces are in place and the cover has been completed, that chapter’s story will begin. You’ll then move through each panel by pressing the X button. Complete a chapter, and you’ll be presented with another cover. Rinse and repeat.

Trophy-wise, this one has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. The list includes a single Silver trophy and 11 Gold trophies to work on. Trophy hunters will be happy to learn that there are no missable trophies in MetaDude. As long as you complete all of the story’s chapters, you’ll have a new shiny Platinum. It deals with a story in which the lines between the virtual world and the real world are becoming too blurred. As the hero Meta-Dude explores the digital world through a prism of irony and consumerism, he’ll be using sarcasm and a deciphering blaster. MetaDude is out on PlayStation 5 with a $1.99 price tag. There’s also a PS4 version available as a separate purchase for the same price.
