Betomis from eastasiasoft is an arcade-style 2D platformer with a retro feel. You’ll take on the role of a valiant knight who sets out to explore a dungeon. The game offers 30 levels of increasing difficulty in which you’ll need to collect a key to open the door to the next level while avoiding obstacles and hazards. You’ll find the always classic pointy spikes that can defeat your character in a single hit. There will also be some moving buzzsaws to avoid. You’ll soon run into enemies as well and will need to collect your weapon for that level before being able to attack an opponent. Defeat deadly carnivorous plants and wobbly blobs to complete your quest.

The controls are very simple and to the point. You’ll control your character with the left analog stick or the D-Pad as you jump and double jump by using the X button. Once you collect your weapon, you’ll be able to attack with the Square button as needed. It will be thanks to your mighty axe – and a pretty useless shield that can’t really protect you – that you’ll be able to overcome the dangers of Betomis. You can also defeat enemies by jumping on top of them to deal damage. There won’t be a need to defeat all enemies to be able to clear a level, so be sure to pay attention to each level’s layout.

Trophy-wise, this one has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. On top of that, since this is a Cross-Buy title, you can download both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of the game at no extra cost, and each one will have its own Platinum trophy for you to work on. Each list has a single Silver trophy and 11 Gold trophies, and as long as you complete the first 20 levels out of the 30 that this game has for you, you’ll have a new Platinum trophy in your collection. If you need some extra tips, you can check out this Betomis Trophy Guide.
