Mermaid Castle 2 Review - 1

You’ll control a Mermaid with the left analog stick. Each of the Mermaids can launch magic projectiles by pressing either the ZR or A buttons. These can be used to deal with enemies and obstacles. Each projectile will drain some of the magic energy from the bar in the upper-left corner of the screen. Id the bar runs out, you won’t be able to attack, so you’ll have to wait for the bar to fill up again.

You can also fill it up by collecting magic orbs. Larger ones will infinitely replenish your magic, making them an excellent option for areas that are a bit more crowded. After meeting Poseidon, the Mermaids will learn that his powerful trident has been stolen! To help him recover it, he will grant each of the Mermaids a special skill that is activated with the B button. Ava will be able to turn transparent, thus avoiding enemy attacks. Luna will receive a dash that can be used to destroy sturdy blocks. Nixie will be able to shrink in size, allowing her to get through smaller spots.

Each Mermaid will have a health bar for you to consider. Whenever they run into an obstacle or are hit by an enemy, their health bar will diminish. When it runs out, they will lose a life, which are represented by the red hearts next to their health bar. When this happens, the Mermaid will respawn at the last checkpoint activated. Watch out for poisonous bubbles as well! To replenish their health, you can collect health orbs to heal some of their wounds. On some stages, you can control mermaid, two Mermaids, or all three of them. If that’s the case, you can switch between them with the ZL or the X buttons.

For each level that you take on, there will be 100 gold coins for you to collect. You won’t have much trouble finding them since they’ll shine even in the darkest places. Some coins might be in the hands of small starfish that you’ll have to catch to grab their treasure. You can also find larger treasure chests with coins. Get all of the coins for a level, and you’ll receive a three-star rating. These coins can be used to help the Wise Octopus rebuild the castle to its former glory.
