Sequel Hidden Through Time 2: Myths and Magic from Rogueside brings us more hidden objects puzzle fun on PlayStation 5. You’ll be joining Clicky as you take on a new set of time periods while searching for the objects needed to progress through the story. I previously got a chance to review Hidden Though Time on Nintendo Switch way back in 2020 and had fun with its hand-drawn journey through time and space, so I was looking forward to checking out this sequel.

Hidden Through Time 2: Myths and Magic Review - 1

The first step on this adventure is to select the first era you’ll be making your way through. What are your options? You can choose between 1001 Nights, The Magical 80s, Greek Mythology, or The Middle Ages. I might be biased, but I certainly prefer starting with The Magical 80s, but the choice is up to you. Once you select the era, you’ll be treated to a short cutscene that will let you know more about the period of time that you’re about to dive into.

After that, you’ll start to control Clicky with the left analog stick, controlling the camera with the right one as you zoom in by using the R2 button in order to get a closer look at things and zoom out with the R2 button as needed. As mentioned before, your goal in each stage is to find all of the objects listed at the bottom of the screen so that you can continue with your adventure. This is done by carefully looking at the screen and finding the object so that you can then click on it by pressing the X button.

Pressing the Triangle button will allow you to change the weather conditions for that level. This is very important because some objects can only be found under specific weather conditions. If you can’t find an object even after you’ve changed the weather conditions, do know that some objects, as well as most buildings, can be opened by interacting with them with the X button.

There’s also the option of creating your own maps thanks to the Architect Mode in Hidden Through Time 2: Myths and Magic. You’ll be able to use the different assets from the game’s eras as you work on creating clever maps for gamers from around the world to enjoy. This also means that you can go into the Online Maps section to review and try out the maps created by others so that you can try to complete and rate them.

And now, let’s talk about the trophies! This one has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy waiting for you. The list has 6 Bronze trophies, 2 Silver trophies, and 10 Gold trophies for you to work on. To get that Platinum, you’ll have to find all objectives in each of the four time periods, find your first secret objective, create and save your first map, complete and rate five online maps, and find the four secret areas. If you need some extra help, you can check out this Hidden Through Time 2: Myths and Magic Trophy Guide.
