God of Light: Remastered from Playmous and Saygames is a fun light-based puzzler on Nintendo Switch. It’s a new take on God of Light, which was released on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We’re now getting 150 puzzle levels split over 6 worlds with revamped HD graphics and a reworked soundtrack from UNKLE, making this the definitive edition.

God of Light: Remastered Review - 1

Your task will be to help Shiny, a glowing blue entity that must do whatever it takes to save the universe from the impending darkness. To do this, you’ll have to use Shiny’s light to energize the Source of Life on each level so that you can repel the darkness before it’s too late.

The controls are easy to understand since you’ll be pressing the A button to wake up Shiny so you can then use the left analog stick or the ZL and ZR buttons to rotate the ray of light that emanates from it. Once you manage to bring Shiny’s light to the Source of Life, you just need to press the Y button to complete the level. Simple, right?

You’ll also have to consider bouncing Shiny’s light off from mirrors, and you’ll even be able to rotate some of them by using the right analog stick to select each new object so that you can control them. Reflecting light is just one of the things you can do since you’ll soon find objects that can split light or hit switches to open up gates blocking your path.

Replay value is added thanks to the Life Crystals you can collect along the way. By using Shiny’s light to shine over them before reaching the Source of Light, you can aim to grab all the Life Crystals to 100% the game as you boost your score during each level. If you’re ever feeling stuck, you can activate a Firefly by pressing the X button. This will show you how to complete the level.
