Knowledge Keeper from Sometimes You is a top-down pixel puzzler on PS5. Many moons ago, the precursors enjoyed a peaceful and heavenly existence, all under the protection of divine energy. One part of said energy cared for the material world, while the other one cared for the spiritual world. Unfortunately, one of the traitors stole the sources of these energies since he wanted to become God. The precursors managed to reclaim the crystals of divine power but decided to break them into pieces to protect them from the traitors.

Knowledge Keeper Review - 1

The crystal shards are now hidden in four parts of the world, and the knowledge of their location is now under safekeeping. While most of the world has forgotten about the crystal shards, an evil entity senses that the planet is weak and defenseless, ready for the taking. It’s now up to you, one of the knowledge keepers, to collect all of the crystal shards before it’s too late so that you can save the world from impending doom.

Knowledge Keeper Review - 2

The controls for this puzzler are simple and to the point. You’ll move your character around each level with the left analog stick or the D-Pad as you try to collect the crystal in each stage. Puzzles will require you to change your color by going through doors or by stepping through portals and being this or that color will allow you to interact with some objects or go over spaces of the same color so that you can reach the crystal.

Knowledge Keeper Review - 3

Trophy-wise, this one features a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. The list is split into 2 Bronze trophies, 4 Silver trophies, and 9 Gold trophies. What do you need to do to get that Platinum trophy? There are trophies for completing the first puzzle in each location, as well as trophies for collecting all crystal shards in each area. On top of that, you’ll have to break 10 random objects, fall into the water, die once, ignite 3 random items, freeze 3 random items, and use a sword 3 times. If you need some extra help, here’s a Knowledge Keeper Trophy Guide.

Knowledge Keeper Review - 4

Knowledge Keeper is a top-down pixel puzzler in which you must collect all of the crystal shards to keep the world from falling into chaos. Color is a big part of the gameplay loop, so you’ll need to pay attention to when and how you need to change your character’s color to find the solution to each puzzle. Knowledge Keeper is out on PlayStation 5 with a $4.99 price tag. There’s also a PlayStation 4 copy of the game available as for the same price as a separate purchase.

This Knowledge Keeper review is based on a PlayStation 5 copy provided by Sometimes You.
