Tell Me Your Story from RedDeerGames is a story-driven, cozy puzzle game on Nintendo Switch. Learn more in our Tell Me Your Story review!

Tell Me Your Story from RedDeerGames is a story-driven, cozy puzzle game on Nintendo Switch. You’ll go on a journey alongside Amelia, a schoolgirl with a vivid imagination. She’s going on a summer vacation to her grandma Rose’s cottage and will be joined by her dog, Peanut. It’s a chill, hand-drawn experience in which, while helping her grandmother clean up, Amelia learns that Grandma Rose used to be a globetrotting traveler in her youth.

Tell Me Your Story Review - 1

It’s thanks to the stories from Grandma Rose, as well as Amelia’s huge imagination, you’ll go on a puzzle journey that will take you through locations such as the Yunnan province in China, the lush Amazon rainforest, or go on a ride on the mysterious Orient Express. By completing the short puzzles you’ll run into, you’ll be able to progress further and further, learning more about Granda Rose’s past. It’s one that reminded me at times of cozy game A Little to the Left, which I also got to review on Nintendo Switch.

The controls are simple and to the point, so you can focus on the puzzles and the lush visuals. The game can be played with the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, or by using the console’s touchscreen when playing in Tabletop or Portable Mode or if playing on a Nintendo Switch Lite console. You’ll move a cursor around the screen and use the A button to choose as needed. You can change pages with the L and R buttons.

What types of puzzles will you run into? To avoid spoiling things too much for this short experience, allow me to discuss the first puzzle you’ll find after reaching Grandma Rose’s cottage. You’ll notice a series of boxes and flower pots on columns, as well as a large treasure chest you need to open. There’s no key for the treasure chest, so what you’ll need to do is move the boxes around so that you can stack them in columns with boxes of the same size. As for the flower pots, you must place them inside each other, from largest to smallest.

Tell Me Your Story is a story-driven, cozy puzzle game on Nintendo Switch. After Amelia and her dog Peanut enjoy a summer vacation at Granda Rose’s cottage, she realizes that her grandmother was once a globetrotting traveler in her youth. This will lead you on a series of hand-drawn adventures as you relieve those moments thanks to Amelia’s imagination. And once you complete the game, be sure to download the three DLC artbooks for Grandma Rose, Amelia, and Peanuts! Tell Me Your Story is out on Nintendo Switch with a $10.99 price tag.
