Hand In Hand from MaxMedia and OverGamez is an atmospheric puzzle platformer on Nintendo Switch in which you’ll control two characters at the same time. Yes, you can play this one with someone else by using two controllers, but the main option is to take on this journey on your own. After being separated by an evil entity, two soulmates who live in a fairytale world must find a way to get back together before it’s too late.

You’ll be controlling your characters with the left analog stick and the right analog as you jump with the L and R buttons, depending on which character you want to jump with. To make it easier for you, one character will be color-coded yellow, and the other will be color-coded blue. The ZL and ZR buttons will be used to attack and phase out with each respective character as needed. This can be used to remove an obstacle, attack an enemy, or traverse through a hazard. When phasing out, some new elements might come into play, such as an ethereal bridge that can help you cross a gap. You’ll sometimes need to crawl to move through a small opening. Sometimes, both characters will need to interact with the same object or portal at the same time.

You’ll start by controlling each character separately before they come together on the same screen. This will give you a feel for what each character will bring to the table. Having them work together as a team is a must since the actions of one of them will affect the other half of the screen. Say there’s a big set of thorns in each character’s path. The thorns will be removed in both sections by having the second character phase out. You might need to activate a colored switch with one character that will trigger something in the other character’s segment. By pressing in on each analog stick, you can zoom in on either character for a better view of their surrounding area.

Hand In Hand is an atmospheric puzzle platformer on Nintendo Switch in which you’ll control two characters at the same time. After being separated by an evil entity, two soulmates who live in a fairytale world must find a way to get back together before it’s too late. By controlling each character with the left and right analog sticks or working alongside someone else with a second controller, you’ll attack enemies and destroy obstacles, remove hazards from their paths, and work together to hopefully end up together again. Hand In Hand is out on Nintendo Switch with a $12.00 asking price.
