INDIKA from Odd Meter and 11Bit Studios is a third-person story-driven journey in which you take on the role of the titular nun who has a peculiar companion in her head. At first glance, Indika seems to be a typical nun. She’s having a hard time adjusting to monastery life and is trying to find her path on this experience… while having the Devil inside her mind! Due to her horn-headed companion, Indika ends up in a different endeavor.

As expected, the subjects of religion and authority will be a constant during your time with INDIKA as the main character starts questioning everything around her with every step she takes. Finding the answers to her questions will certainly come at a price, and it will be up to you to help Indika complete her odyssey. Going beyond the walls of the monastery is a big no-no, but how is someone with a direct connection to the Devil going to stay behind in a safe life without questioning everything around her?
You’ll take control of Indika with the left analog stick and use the right one to move the camera around as needed. You can run by pressing the R1 button. The Square button will be for actions like sitting at a bench to take a break or grabbing a basket that you must deliver to another nun. The Triangle button will be for talking. You can activate your lamp by pressing in on the right analog stick. And when times are tough, you should look around you to find something you can focus your faith on in order to pray.

Things will start out simple enough, with Indika being asked to go grab a basket of potatoes from one of the nuns and bring it back to the kitchen so that they can be used for the soup. She walks slowly as the voice in her head starts to give us a glimpse into what it’s like to have the Devil in your head 24/7, taunting your actions and letting you know that your conviction is merely a facade for what you really crave.
You’ll soon realize that the other nuns don’t think fondly of Indika. After delivering the potatoes, she’s asked to fill up a barrel with water since it’s needed for the soup. She must walk back and forth between the barrel and the well, eventually filling up the barrel after five trips. Unfortunately, one of the nuns steps out of the kitchen as Indika is filling it up with the final bucket… and immediately dumps all of its contents. She says that the other nuns would not eat if they knew that Indika had helped with the soup. She then prays and blesses to cleanse the empty barrel.

Soon after this, Indika has one of her many visions during a special session in which all nuns are having communion. She sees a small man crawl out of one of the nun’s mouth, run over someone else’s shoulder and try to jump into her mouth. It’s then that a decision is made: Indika is tasked with delivering a mysterious letter. To who? No idea. What’s in it? Who knows! So off she goes on this journey, with the Devil on her shoulder. What could possibly go wrong?
The game has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. Its trophy list includes a single Bronze trophy, 6 Silver trophies, and 9 Gold trophies. There are trophies that will pop up as you progress through the game’s different chapters. The rest are tied to completing specific objectives, such as having INDIKA push a piano against the wall in a specific chapter, destroying all boxes at the station… or casually drowning 10 times at the pond. Because of this, if you need some extra help, you can use this INDIKA Trophy Guide.

INDIKA is a third-person story-driven journey in which you take on the role of the titular nun who has a peculiar companion in her head. Indika has the Devil always whispering to her, commenting on everything she does, corrupting her mind as she’s brought closer and closer to the dark side. How will Indika’s adventure end? Oh, and there are also some retro-looking mini-game sections for you to make your way through here and there. INDIKA is out on PlayStation 5 with a $24.99 price tag.
