Dungeon Arsenal from Brainium Games and Deadpix Studios is a fast-paced roguelite card game on Nintendo Switch. You’ll be taking on a series of randomly generated dungeons as you uncover new cards to add to your deck so that you can hopefully travel deeper and deeper into the darkness. While items and gold will be a welcomed discovery, monsters will also be lurking around every step of the way. And once you find a boss, you better be ready for the fight! As long as you find some relics along the way, you should be able to stand a chance.

Dungeon Arsenal Review - 1

You’ll move a cursor around the screen with the left analog stick or the D-Pad as you press the A button to reveal cards as needed. You’ll spend 1 AP when doing this. You start each floor with 5 AP and will also spend AP to use cards, so you’ll need to balance things. Each Hero will have a different max HP and effects. As you use weapons, you’ll make the most of their attack value to inflict damage upon enemies, trying not to leave them a chance to counterattack.

You also need to watch for the cards’ rarity, AP cost, and durability. Rarity will have an effect on a card’s AP cost since a rare card will be more powerful. As mentioned before, AP cost dictates how much AP you’ll need to spend to activate that card. Durability is also an important element since it will dictate how many times you can use a card before it’s destroyed. Always take a good look at a monster’s stats so that you know how much damage they can deal, and how much damage you need to deal so that they’re defeated.

How will you attack monsters during your dungeon-crawling journey? All you need to do is move the cursor over a card, press the A button, drag that weapon card over a monster card, and release the A button. The monster will receive damage, and the weapon card’s durability will be slightly lowered. Oh, and I almost forgot: you can also play the game by using the console’s touchscreen when in Portable or Tabletop, or if playing on a Nintendo Switch Lite.

Dungeon Arsenal is a fast-paced roguelite card game on Nintendo’s console with a minimalist presentation. As you explore each floor of the mysterious tower on the horizon, you’ll be flipping cards and dragging and dropping weapon cards on top of monsters and bosses as you chip away at their health, all while making the most of the relics you find along the way. Do you have what it takes to reach your journey’s end? Dungeon Arsenal is out on Nintendo Switch with a $6.99 price tag.
