2D platformer sequel Awesome Pea 3 from Sometimes You and PigeonDev brings us a new precision platforming experience to take for a spin on PlayStation 5. Unlike the other two previous games in the series, this one is presented in full color. It’s a game that features 69 levels of increasing difficulty that will test your skills as you try to get from point A to point B in one piece. Simple and to the point, right?

Awesome Pea 3 Review - 1

You’ll control your round character with the left analog stick or the D-Pad as it jumps around each area by pressing the X button. The pea will also be able to dash when you press the Square button. Oh, and it can also walk on walls as if they were the floor! As you play through each level, you’ll need to collect the key that opens up the portal that will take you to the next level. And if you want to 100% the game, you’ll also need to collect all coins along the way. Yes, coins are most certainly tied to trophies.

Awesome Pea 3 Review - 2

Trophy-wise, this one features a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. The list is split into 6 Bronze trophies, 11 Silver trophies, and 7 Gold trophies for you to work on. The objectives are simple and to the point since you’ll be focusing on collecting all of the coins for levels 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36, 39, 42, 45, 48, 51, 54, 57, 60, 63, 66, and 69. Yes, that does mean you’ll need to complete all levels in the game for this Platinum trophy. If you need some extra help, you can check out this Awesome Pea 3 Trophy Guide.

Awesome Pea 3 Review - 3

Awesome Pea 3 is a fun minimalist precision platformer with 69 levels to offer. Unlike its monochromatic prequels, the third game in the series embraces a full-color palette. As you jump and dash your way through each level, you’ll collect coins to open the portal to the next one with a difficulty that increases at a steady pace. Awesome Pea 3 is out on PlayStation 5 with a $4.99 price tag. There’s also a PlayStation 4 version of the game available for the same price as a separate purchase.
