Ginger – The Tooth Fairy from Brainium Games and ERMedia is a colorful 2D educational platformer aiming to put a clean smile on your face. You will take care of teeth and molars by searching high and low for them in each stage you explore. You’ll need them to open up the doors to other levels, which means they’ll sort of act like the stars in the classic Super Mario 64. Will you be able to find them all? You’ll be asked to help by a giant bat.

Ginger - The Tooth Fairy Review - 1

It turns out that said bat’s evil brother and his boss – known as Kavity – have stolen all of your power teeth to keep you from using the magic doors that can allow you to travel through the many realms in this particular world. Once you get started, you’ll take control of the titular Ginger by using the left analog stick or the D-Pad, jumping with the A button to avoid hazards, and jumping on top of enemies to defeat them.

Your health will be represented by several toothbrushes with toothpaste on the upper left corner of the screen. Every time you’re hit, you’ll lose one of these. Lose all, and Ginger will be defeated. You can gain a boost to your overall health by collecting 100 colorful toothpaste tubes with googly eyes. Yes, these will take the place of coins from the Super Mario Bros. series. Because of this, once you manage to grab 100 toothpaste tubes, you’ll be rewarded with an extra toothbrush with toothpaste!

You can also collect the letters for the word D-E-N-T to be rewarded with a tooth. Some teeth and molars will be damaged with some cavities, so you’ll need to first collect enough materials to fix them before it’s too late. If you run into a tooth that is beyond repair, then you’ll need to find a replacement tooth for it – you know, just like in real life! Oh, and as you defeat more and more enemies, you’ll eventually receive a boost to your attack power so that you can defeat enemies in fewer hits.
