[PlayStation 5] Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery Review
Ready for another cozy hidden object journey on PlayStation 5? Then it’s time for you to check out our Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery review!
I enjoy playing hidden object games on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch, even more so if they’re a cozy journey that I can play at my own pace without a timer rushing me to finish a puzzle. I had a good time playing the first game in this series for my Hidden Through Time review on Nintendo Switch. I also took sequel Hidden Through Time 2: Myths and Magic for a spin on PlayStation 5 earlier this year. When Rogueside announced it would be back to give us another serving of Hidden Through Time 2, I was eager to check out Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery on PlayStation 5.

If you’re new to the series, your task will be to locate the required objects as you explore each hand-drawn location while interacting with the different items and characters on offer. For this new release, you’ll be taking on three eras: Victorian, Noir, and Sci-fi. I dig how there are no timers rushing you to find this or that object as you scroll through each level. Enjoy the chill soundtrack and take your time as you aim to 100% the game. And yes, you can also use the included editor to build your own creations and share them with the world.
You’ll be controlling a cursor around the screen with the left analog stick as you move the camera with the left analog stick, zooming in by using the L2 button in order for you to get a better view. There will be a list of objects at the bottom of the screen, and your task will be to find all objects shown in the objective list at the bottom of the screen. Find all of them to progress to the next level. At the top of the screen will sometimes be buttons for changing the time and transforming the world you’re exploring. Some objects can only be found during specific weather conditions! You will also need to search inside of buildings. Keep in mind that some buildings have more than one floor!

As was the case for Hidden Through Time 2: Myths and Magic, this game has a full trophy list with a Platinum trophy for you to add to your collection. The trophy list is a short one since it includes only 11 Gold trophies for you to work on. The objectives to complete include finding your first object, finding 10, 25, and 50 objects, finding all objects in the Noir, Victorian, and Sci-Fi stories, completing any online map, and completing and rating 3 and 5 online maps. If you need some extra help, you can check out this Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery Trophy Guide.

If you enjoy hidden object games with a cozy and colorful twist, then you should definitely check out Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery. And if you’ve played the previous Hidden Through Time games – and the available DLC – then adding Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery to your collection is a no-brainer. As you explore the Victorian, Noir, and Sci-Fi eras, you’ll be taking on 33 maps in total as you find as many objects as possible. You can also work on crafting your own levels and sharing them with the rest of the world, which means you can also play the levels created by other gamers. Hidden Through Time 2: Discovery is out on PlayStation 5 with a $10.99 price tag.
